My name is Salim Al-Harthy, although I love taking pictures of various categories, ranging from Macro, studio and fine art photography all the way to wild life, but what really gives me the kick is landscape, simply because it changes constantly with the light, places, seasons and the weather. You can take a photo a certain scene and take the same scene the next day and have this different outcome all together, fascinating really!. Travel is also my passion, you combined that with photography than you have this different perspective towards it all together What makes a a great photographer. Here are what I like to call Salim Three Rule to Achieve a Master Piece: 1) Technical (20%): First and foremost you need to know and understand your camera, what does Aperture, ISO, Shutter, Braketing, AutoFocus, Bulb, Blending, metering, exposure compensation etc etc and how to use them and when. But this is only 20% of the deal. You can be a master of the technical but still have a normal picture, why you wonder, lets go to Rule Number 2 2) Exposure (30%): A picture is all about getting the exposure. Basically is how to use the above, in combination to get the right exposure, even if it requires using the help of external eqpt such as filters etc. Exposure is the art of balancing the Aperture, Shutter, ISO with the use of other tool in the camera to get the right picture exposed. This can only be mastered through experience and alot alot alot of shooting. But still, you haven't go your master piece yet. Lets go to rule No.3 3) Composition (50%): Composition is basically how you frame your photo, its the art of photography, it what makes you unique from one photographer to another, irrespective what camera you have. Is how you place your subject in an angle with its surrounding in such a way it gives you the WOW effect with combination of choosing the right time of the day (sunset, sunrise, golden hour and blue). Life is short, what remains at the end are memory and photography is basically a tool to discover the wonders of this so called planet of ours. So sit back and relax and see the world through my eyes! You can also locate me on my facebook fan page, or flickr!. SalimPhoto.com on Facebook
